County Christmas Concert 2008

We read Christmas poems and stories and sang our own version 'Our favourite Christmas things'.

At the end of November Shirley, Jane and Sylvia spent an enjoyable weekend at Denman.  Shirley had a County Bursary and along with Sylvia joined a course on Creative Papercrafts.  Jane's course was Silk Jewellery

2008 entry for County Rose Bowl Competition  - 'Hot'n Spicy'
Our winning entry in the Staging and Display section of the 2008 County Show - 'Craft Corner' - we chose to depict upholstery
Jane gained 1st place in the Beginner's Floral competition with her arrangement for the President's Table.

At the February 2008 Birthday Party, President Jane Narborough presented Lorna Kendrick with the 'Member of the Year 2007' cup. She also presented the Annual Cup for the competition winners to Shirley Jones (first) and Morfa Shaw (second). 

 

'Last of the Summer Wine', presented by the Rhayader Entertainment Group at the 2008 Birthday Party.  This item caused ructions of laughter from members as they watched the antics of the 'Ladies'.  Taking part were Jen Oakley - Ivy, Sylvia Richards - Pearl, Sandra Betty - Glenda, Shirley Jones - Nora Batty,  Sue George - Marina, Liz Lloyd - Miss Davenport, Gwen Jones - Aunty Wainwright and Helen Lee - Ros (Glenda's Aunty).  Val Evans produced the item.
